  1. Presence Report

    1. 145 members

      1. 55 paid dues so far

    2. 1900 IG followers

      1. Engagement is 70%

    3. $17,000 in bank account

      1. Thanks to many sponsors for the upcoming street faire

    4. 40 events planned for the year

      1. New mural went up on Katie O’briens!

  2. Councilor Angelita talking on their vision for the district

    1. Goal is to make things easy to understand and accessible

      1. Here for conversation and to listen

      2. Wants to support and promote the street faire

      3. The new business license tax recently passed for small businesses

        1. You can apply for an exemption

      4. There will be cuts to every bureau based on tariffs and everything happening on the federal level

      5. There are small business retention programs, but Prosper will be cutting some support which will affect businesses.

    2. Councilor asks for anyone to speak up on how we can best be supported

      1. Rent abatement or assistance?

      2. Vacancy fees?

      3. Cleanliness and safety and homelessness?

        1. This is budget cut season

        2. We don’t have enough space to house the unhoused

          1. We need more available restrooms

          2. Better waste control

          3. There are more people becoming unhoused at a higher rate than when the new mayor took office

          4. 350 new people every month

          5. Security, mental health crises? Police response?

        3. Councilor acknowledges that sweeps are not a sustainable solution, and that people need more support

          1. If someone is having a crisis, call 9-1-1

          2. If someone is just hanging out or camping, call 3-1-1

        4. Councilor asks what our relationships are like with our houseless neighbors

          1. Multiple stories shared, taken place over past few years

      4. Supporting the arts scene

        1. Councilor wants to be put to work, help with murals, etc.

        2. Last week, they passed an amendment to fund things like social housing or debt buy-downs to help keep rent stable

          1. Will be finalized this week

        3. Artist residencies

      5. Fostering home ownership

        1. Councilor brought an amendment (The Tao) forward that tackles several angles to this issue

      6. How to best contact the metro chamber to support small businesses

        1. Write, call, even financially sponsor

  3. Election of the new Vice Chair!

    1. Elizabeth officially unanimously voted in!

  4. Tickets for booths at the street faire will be accepted soon

    1. Doing our best to make this accessible to as many people as possible
